Supported Pipe Fitting Shapes

The calculator supports weight estimation for all standard buttweld pipe fittings per ASME B16.9, including 90° and 45° long-radius elbows, 180° return elbows, equal tees, concentric and eccentric reducers, end caps, and long/short stub ends. These fittings are manufactured by Creative Piping Solutions in sizes from ½" to 48" in a wide range of materials.

Flange Weight Calculation

Flanges per ASME B16.5 and ASME B16.47 are critical components in piping systems. Our calculator covers Slip On, Blind, Weld Neck, Socket Weld, Reducing, and Spectacle Blind flanges. Simply enter the flange outer diameter, bore ID, thickness, and hub dimensions to get an accurate weight estimate.

Forged Fittings (ASME B16.11)

Socket weld and threaded forged fittings are used in high-pressure small-bore piping. The calculator covers elbows, tees, full & half couplings, unions, and end caps. These shapes use simplified volumetric formulas with industry-standard correction factors.

Pipe Spool Weight — Fabricated Components

Pipe spools are pre-fabricated sections of piping consisting of multiple straight pipe segments joined by butt welds. Our Pipe Spool shape uses the standard pipe weight formula plus a weld ring volume allowance — π × OD × WT² × Number_of_Welds — to account for the additional material at each weld joint. This is especially useful for estimating shipping weights and material costs for fabricated piping systems.

What is the formula for pipe spool weight?

Pipe spool weight = Pipe body weight + Weld ring allowance. The pipe body uses the standard formula: π/4 × (OD² − ID²) × Length × Density. The weld ring volume is approximated as π × OD × Wall_Thickness² × Number_of_Welds.

Which materials are supported?
